Professor Baldev Singh Dhillon is an internationally renowned〔(PunjabNewsline.com - Renowned Punjab maize breeder invited to join as Director Research in GNDU )〕 agricultural scientist and at present he is working as the Vice Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University in India. Earlier he worked as Assistant Director General at ICAR, Director of NBPGR (ICAR), Director of Research at Punjab Agricultural University and Guru Nanak Dev University. He worked at University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany from 1976–78, 1988–90 and 2007–11, International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, Mexico in 1993-94 and University of Birmingham, UK in 1989, in Maize Breeding, Genetics and Biotechnology. Professor Dhillon was born in Amritsar in 1947.〔 He is known for scientific breakthroughs in maize breeding. He has a Doctorate from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi.
